EKCNA - UNESCO World Heritage Site

On September 19, 2023, the UNESCO International Committee added the "Evaporitic Karst and Caves of the Northern Apennines" to the list of World Heritage natural sites. This extraordinary recognition highlights the universal value of the caves and karst phenomena due to their unique characteristics and their significance in illustrating the geological and geomorphological evolution of the Earth. The inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List also entails a strong commitment and great responsibility for the protection and sustainable development of this site.
